Join Neighbors for our upcoming Play Streets event happening in the Jackson Neighborhood on April 29th. This is a large-scale block party which raises awareness for traffic safety around our Jackson Elementary by changing driver behavior through a variety of interactive experiences.

This effort is part of a Jackson Neighborhood Safe Streets Pilot Program modeled after other cities of our size that successfully changed driver behavior in neighborhoods with small scale improvements and Play Streets events. We have collected 113 traffic safety surveys so far and it's clear that our residents have identified speeding, stop sign running, and donuts in intersections as some of their biggest safety concerns. We believe a Play Streets event will give tangible (and more immediate) action to making our neighborhood streets safer and more pedestrian friendly while we continue to work with the city to identify more permanent safety solutions.
